More Monkey Applique

I’ve been experimenting  with background fabric to try and prevent puckering in my designs. This is a medium weight waffle-type fabric. And I used tear-away stabilizer. It is working well.

I did realize after the fact, that I needed to keep the grain of the fabric going the same direction. Isn’t that the way it goes, realizing after the fact?

These will make a cute baby quilt. To make it look authentic,  I used an actual red heel sock for the monkeys.

It takes about two hours to stitch one design because of all the trimming.

Find the designs here.

Hope you had a great Sunday. God is good.

About ladybelle

I'm a wife, mother and grandmother and I love to make things, especially sock monkeys. They're great for all kinds of gifts, birthdays, baby showers, etc. Kids love them and so do adults!! I've made many football players, including Peyton Manning, Tony Romo and Tom Brady, and character monkeys like Rainbow Brite and the Grinch. Look at some of my favorites and email me with your requests at
