Practical, easy and cute!

That’s my idea of a great Christmas gift.

I saw these dish rags at Sew Many Ideas fabric shop in Jackson, Tennessee and had to try one.  I got the dish rags at Walmart for $3.48 for 3. Then I found this apple applique at Planet Applique.

Amanda helped me with this photo. She’s back there peeking through.

The apple is made from 8 layers of red tulle. You can also use plastic mesh that comes around fruit, like “Little Cuties” or onions. This tulle or mesh is the scratchy part of the dish rag for washing dishes. Just applique the tulle then cut the dish rag out from the back.   If you don’t have an embroidery machine you can just applique an apple by hand. Draw an apple or other fruit on the dish rag with a marking pen, lay the tulle on top, and then satin stitch the tulle to the dish rag.    Cool, huh? Practical, easy and cute. I’m big on easy.
