Owls and more

Babies are so much fun to sew for!! Here’s another rag quilt. The green looks a little faded but the nursery colors are green and brown owls.

I used minky and fleece and put flannel on the back.

And, of course, the toy to match.

Here’s a practical idea that turned out cuter than I aimed for it to.

Burp pads and receiving blankets to match.  On a prefolded diaper I added a simple machine embroidery animal, some decorative stitching down the sides and added flannel to each end. The instructions for the burp pads are found here. On the receiving blanket I used 1 yard of fabric and just rounded the corners and used a double overlock stitch. Quick and easy shower gifts.
